Fulcrum Acoustic was founded in 2008 by Stephen Siegel and David Gunness, a business strategist and an acclaimed loudspeaker designer who believed professional audio needed a new approach rooted in engineering integrity, practical problem-solving, and better tools for sound system designers.
From the beginning, we set out to rethink how loudspeakers are built and how they perform in the field. Our early breakthroughs included coaxial speaker designs that delivered consistent off-axis response in a compact footprint, and the integration of DSP as a core part of the design process, not an afterthought. These decisions weren’t made to stand out on a spec sheet, but to solve real challenges faced by real professionals.
Then came Passive Cardioid TechnologyTM, a first-of-its-kind solution for reducing rear low-frequency radiation without extra speakers or amplifiers. This innovation gave designers powerful pattern control for sensitive environments like urban outdoor venues, worship spaces, and multi-purpose halls.
As our product line grew, so did our capabilities and ambition. Today, Fulcrum’s loudspeakers, amplifiers, and software platforms are used in concert halls, stadiums, theme parks, and immersive installations around the world. We continue to design and manufacture everything locally in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, giving us full control over quality, flexibility, and lead times.
What hasn’t changed? Our commitment to making systems that perform predictably, install cleanly, and deliver exceptional sound, no matter how complex the environment.
